"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." – 1 Timothy 4:12

A little bit about me...

About Me

by Julie Gozali

I am an ordinary girl with little thoughts on what life is all about. I have always been a happy-go-lucky kind of person, and carefree has always been more than just a brand of pantyliners for me.

When I was 14, my sister told me about Jesus and I believed. Little did I know that that was the most important moment in my life. At that point in time, nothing changed. Preferably, I’d love to have a huge wow miraculous O-M-G kind of conversion. But then again, I am a forgetful person; so maybe, even if a miracle did happen, I would’ve forgotten it by now. All I remember was – in 1998 – like a little child, I didn’t know much about God, but I chose to believe…

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast” [Ephesians 2:8-9]

Now, 12 years on, I am no better than I was before. Nonetheless, through the countless blessings, the numerous doubts, and the many hardships in life, I am now more assured than ever of my faith and of His grace. Of course, preferably, I would rather just learn to depend on Him through all the good bits and blessings. Preferably, I would rather love and serve Him because I am grateful for the beautiful things He’s done in my life. But how can I complain… It was during the time of doubts that He gave me a stronger faith, and it was through a time of suffering and isolation that He gave me the assurance that He is my rock and my strength.

I don’t think my story is that great, but my God is. It is not about me. It is about Him.

That’s me.
